Addressing the reporters Vikrama Raja said that the business sector is currently in a state of loss and foreign investment in the retail business has taken a heavy toll. Condemning the same, he said that a protest will be held on Dec 17 and all the shops across Tamil Nadu will remain closed.
He said that the demand of the Vanigar Sangam on GST is yet to be addressed and the Central Government should ensure the safety of the domestic traders.
Commenting on Vijay Sethupathi's role in the Mandi app advertisement, he said that the merchants have good respect for actor Vijay Sethupathi and he should stop endorsing the Mandi app through advertisements and appealed to all the actors to choose an advertisement that would not harm anyone and act in it.
